The Istrian seaside, with its pleasant Mediterranean climate and picturesque villages situated on the hills, offers many possibilities for active holidays throughout the year. You can get to know coastal settlements in an all-day hike along the 13-kilometre-long coastal walking path. You can start at the Strunjan salt pans and continue along the green hillsides to Fiesa, where in clear weather the view stretches out over the sea and to the Alps. From Fiesa, you can stroll along the sea to medieval Piran and from there to the ever green Portorož, where the path will lead you to the finish line in Sečovlje Salina.
Marked bike trails, walking paths and interactive maps on mobile applications will guide you through the beautiful sights of our countryside. Portorož and Piran are excellent starting points for bike trips and sightseeing excursions to other parts of Istria and the beautiful sights of Slovenia.
Parenzana – the health and friendship route is the right one for all those who want to take a step into the history of old cities and get acquainted with the natural resources of the Istrian Coast and see the beauty of the landscape, covered with hills. The route goes along the old narrow gauge Parenzana railway, which used to connect Trieste and Poreč and has become a symbol of friendship between the Slovenian, Italian and Croatian municipalities.
On hot summer days, you can relax on our beaches or refresh yourself with water sports.
